I am convinced that although your commitment to the tasks ahead will be demanding of your time this position will, nevertheless, be very rewarding. I have no doubt that your association with the Federation will prove to be mutually benefícial and worthwhile in the years ahead. You have been appointed until the Annual Conference 2007 when this position will be eligible for election. The Secretariats welcome to you will be along slightly more practical lines, and if you require any further documentation to augment that which has been handed over by your predecessor, please inform the Regional Officer, Carole Couchman, and this will be sent to you. May I suggest that you arrange a short briefing visit to Interpilot House when you are able, since I believe íhis will acquaint you more thoroughly with me tasks required of you. In addition could you please send Carole your contact details as at present we can only contact you via APLA. Your expertise in the Region will be invaluable as you represent the Federation at the various ICAO meetings. After attending these meetings it will be your responsibility to report back to the Regional Officer and also the Executive Vice President for the CAR/SAM Region and by doing so the Federation will remam constantly aware of developments in aviation safety in this Región.
